Why deficiency is so widespread

Vitamin D is unique: it's technically a hormone precursor, not a vitamin. K2 forms: MK-7 vs. MK-4

Vitamin K2 comes in two forms. MK-7 (menaquinone-7, derived from fermented natto) has a half-life of ~72 hours, meaning a single daily dose maintains consistent blood levels. MK-4 has a 4–6 hour half-life and would require multiple daily doses to maintain levels. Always buy MK-7 for K2 supplementation.
